The tower was meant to be the main entry to the school. Since it was to be the main entry, the name of the school "Daniel McIntyre was to have been carved in the stone above the entry arch. In consequence, the school's name did not appear on the building until the 1954 addition of a new gymnasium. The light red line which has been added to the first drawing shows the point to which the school was actually built. The lower floor of the tower was to have been the vestibule or main entryway, the second floor was to have been a staff lounge, the third floor was to have been %%%%%%%%%%%, and the fourth or top floor was to have been %%%%%%%%%. Also note that the main flagpole would have resided on top of this tower.

It is truly a shame that the tower was never built. In the more detailed view below, you can see that the stonework which is so absolutely marvelous on the existing school would have even been surpassed by what had been planned for the tower.
